A new EP on Scuba’s Hotflush label is always welcome and this’un sees D & P firmly in heads down, 5am mode. Their trademark richter scale kicks combine with driving percussion and unnerving atmospherics on stand-out ‘Black Deep’ while lead track ‘Colt’ throws some sunshine piano in the mix – like scattering glitter on a rhino. Excitingly, the final track ‘Airless’ was created in one take with live percussion following the route forged by acts like Electro Guzzi and Brandt Brauer Frick. Although not quite at that pair’s level yet, these two are well worth keeping an ear on.
