TESSELA – GATEWAY
This is the final part of Tessela’s Nancy’s Pantry EP out on Oct 7 and how good does it sound? The answer, my friends, is very. Gateways’s shrill and nagging hi-hats are placed abrasively front and centre and, with the accompanying hardcore stabs and old school vocal, this is a rave track re-imagined for the onesies (or however we’re referring to this decade.) Despite its evident heft this is probably the most subtle track on the EP with ‘Nancy’s Pantry’ and ‘Horizon’ (below) just all-out animals. And if there’s a producer who revels more in oversized and distorted 808s than Tessela I’ve yet to hear them.
