Omar Souleyman

The inimitable Omar Souleyman has long been a favourite of proper muso’s and critics alike and this album sees him embracing this underground love by getting Four Tet on the boards, a collaboration which threatened a soundclash of electronics with more traditional elements. If you’re worried that the addition of an ostensibly electronic producer might somewhat spoil the authenticity and vibrancy of Omar’s work though, worry not. Hebden remains honest to the artist and the urgency and joy of the work remain – his influence more subtle than you might imagine. Tremendous stuff.

The album is released on Oct 22 and can be streamed in all it’s glory over here
